Webb City’s boys swim team hosted a dual meet on Tuesday, with Joplin, Monett and West Plains competing alongside the Cardinals.
Joplin coach Aaron Stump noted his squad performed well.
“It was a good meet,” Stump told SoMo Sports. “We won two relays and had Nathan Wardlow, Isaiah Thom and Ian Vermillion place first in individual events. In our head-to-head dual results, it was close, but we outscored all three of the opposing schools.”
Joplin’s 200-yard medley relay team of Wardlow, Jackson Mordica, Parker Hinman and Vermillion took first with a time of 1:50.
The Eagles were also first in the 200 freestyle relay, as Vermillion, Hinman, Thom and Wardlow recorded a time of 1:41.
Individually, Wardlow won two events, the 200 freestyle in 1:55 and the 500 free in 5:13.
Thom took first in the 100 freestyle in 58.56 seconds and Vermillion won the 100 backstroke (1:06) and also took second in the 100 butterfly (1:02).
Finishing third in their events were Jackson Mordica (200 IM, 100 breaststroke) and Thom (50 freestyle).
The Eagles finished fourth in the 400 freestyle relay, with Owen Mordica, Thom, Jordan Goins and Jackson Mordica competing.
Webb City won the 400 free relay in 3:57, with Steve Kenlee, Cole Dalton, Adrien Black and Aiden Patterson competing.
Webb City’s Micah Brouwer won the 100 breaststroke in 1:10 and Grant Humphrey won the 1-meter diving competition.
The Cardinals were second in the 200 freestyle relay, with Kenlee, Patterson, Black and Brouwer competing.
Dalton was the runner-up in the 100 freestyle, while Dalton Spencer took second in the 200 IM and Black finished second in the 200 free and third in the 500 free.
Webb City’s team of Dalton, Brouwer, Spence and Dagan Chacon finished third in the 200 medley relay.
