SOFTBALL: Carthage knocks off Branson

CARTHAGE, Mo. — Carthage erased a two-run deficit with two runs of its own in the third inning before adding three runs in the fifth and four in the sixth en route to a 9-3 win over Branson in Central Ozark Conference action on Tuesday.

Addie Wallace earned the win in the circle after allowing three runs on 10 hits and five strikeouts in seven innings.

Kaleah Morrison took the loss after allowing five runs on nine hits, five walks and a strikeout in 4 1/3 innings.

Lottie Youngblood homered twice for Carthage, drove in four runs and scored three times. A Smith had three hits, drove in one and scored once. Jenna Calhoon doubled twice and tallied four RBI.

Carthage (13-9, 4-1 COC) hosts Nixa on Thursday.
