The Neosho Wildcats were among the teams competing at the Class 2 District 6 individual boys tennis tournament on Friday at Cooper Tennis Complex in Springfield.
The Wildcats were unable to advance to state.
In singles, Neosho’s Christian Williams suffered a 6-1, 6-0 loss to Branson’s Wyatt Carlson and teammate Ryno Lee lost to Branson’s Josh Bartram 6-1, 6-0.
In doubles, Neosho’s Jacob Leibham and Noah Schade defeated Parkview’s No. 2 team 6-0, 6-2. Leibham-Schade then suffered a 6-0, 6-0 loss to Branson’s Garrett Beckham-Nathan Bartram.
Neosho’s duo of Peyton Williams and Wes Williams suffered a 6-0, 6-1 setback to West Plains’ No. 2 doubles team.
The qualifiers in singles were Willard’s duo of Caden Lingenfelser and Alex Crawford. Lingenfelser defeated his teammate 6-0, 6-1 in the title match.
The Branson Pirates qualified both of their doubles teams, as Beckham and Nathan Bartram beat teammates William Stark and Jacob Decker in the title match.
In Monday’s team district tournament, fifth-seeded Neosho meets fourth-seeded West Plains. The winner gets No. 1 Branson in the semifinals.
