The Carl Junction High School boys tennis team earned a 5-4 win over Clever on Monday.
The Bulldogs won two of three doubles matches.
At No. 1 doubles, Blaine Wilkerson and Dan Hodson defeated Cole Waisner and Jase Whiles 8-4, while Ben Morey and Will Russel edged Dylan Dodds-Anthony Dodds 9-7 at No. 2 doubles. At No. 3 doubles, CJ’s Jayden Wolf-Cameron Ball suffered an 8-5 loss to Jason Williams-Ryan McFail.
Clever’s Waisner defeated Wilkerson 8-4 at No. 1 singles, but Carl Junction won the matches at No. 2, No. 3 and No. 4. Hodson beat Whiles 8-3, Morey topped Dylan Dodds 8-2 and Russel defeated Anthony Dodds 8-1.
Clever’s Williams defeated Wolf 8-4 and McFail beat Ball 8-3.
Carl Junction takes on Joplin on Tuesday night.
