SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Carl Junction, Webb City and Carthage finished first, second and third, respectively, at the Valkyrie Invitational girls swim meet on Saturday.
There were 14 teams in attendance. Carl Junction finished with 242 points, while Webb City had 152 and Carthage had 142.
CARL JUNCTION RESULTS
Carl Junction won four events.
Skyler Sundy won the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1 minute, 4 seconds, while Emma Lacey won the 100 breaststroke in 1:13.
The Bulldogs took first in two relays—the 200-yard medley relay in 1:58 and the 200 freestyle relay in 1:45. Carl Junction was sixth in the 400 freestyle relay.
Chloe Miller took second in the 50-yard freestyle in 25.39 and also finished fourth in the 100 butterfly (1:06).
Abigail Wilson was third in the breaststroke (1:18), while Lacey finished fourth in the 100 freestyle (58.52).
Sophia Hensley was fifth in the 200 IM and seventh in the 100 butterfly, while Kennedy Johnson and Abigail Holcomb finished sixth and seventh, respectively, in the 500 freestyle.
Madeleine Garoutte was fifth in the breaststroke and seventh in the 200 IM, while Alanza Montez took ninth in the 50 free.
Sundy also took sixth in the 100 butterfly, while Adelyn Whisman was seventh in the 100 backstroke.
WEBB CITY RESULTS
Webb City’s Nikki Hensley won the 1-meter diving competition with a score of 278.3. Teammates Maci Brown and Kyndie Crockett finished third and fourth, respectively.
The Cardinals finished third in the 400 freestyle relay, fifth in the 200 medley relay and seventh in the 200 freestyle relay.
Sophia Whitesell took second in both the 200 individual medley (2:23) and the 500 freestyle (5:40).
Skylar Powell was fourth in the 50 free (27.38) and ninth in the 100 freestyle.
Makenzie Storm finished ninth in the 100 breaststroke, while Hally Philpot took 10th in the 100 freestyle.
CARTHAGE RESULTS
Carthage’s Madison Riley won the 100 butterfly with a time of 1:02 and finished third in the 100 backstroke (1:05). Carthage coach Braden McBride said Riley set a school record in the backstroke.
Ava Lacey was third in two events—the 200 freestyle (2:13) and the 500 freestyle (6:04).
Aubree Santillan took fourth in the 100 backstroke, while Elena Wright finished eighth in the 500 free and Olivia Wright was 10th.
Hope Fultz took eighth in both the 200 freestyle and the 100 freestyle, while Aubree Santillan was eighth in the 200 IM.
The Tigers were second in the 400 freestyle relay and third in the 200 medley relay.
