PREP GOLF: Joplin wins Ozark invite; Harry Satterlee earns medalist honors

Another tournament, another win. 

Joplin topped the 17-team field at the Ozark Invitational golf tournament on Thursday at Fremont Hills Country Club. 

The Eagles finished with a 315 and were three strokes better than runner-up Nixa.

Joplin’s Harry Satterlee shot a 74 to earn medalist honors. He was two strokes better than Kickapoo’s Hayden Wiggins and Springfield Catholic’s Tyler Han. 

Joplin’s Fielding Campbell carded 77 and tied for fourth place with Ozark’s Kyler Smith and Nixa’s Chance Wilhite.

Also for the Eagles, Wyatt Satterlee and Hobbs Campbell both carded 82 and Ethan Sage turned in an 83.

Joplin (315), Nixa (318), Ozark (324), Catholic (347), Carthage (359), Branson (361), Carl Junction (362), Webb City (363), Republic (368) and Marshfield (388) were the top 10 teams. 

Tying for seventh place individually with scores of 79 were Ozark’s Carter Chronister and Nixa’s Meyer Lively. Rounding out the top 10 individuals were Branson’s Nathan Woodmansee and Nixa’s Jonathan Miller, as both carded 80. 

Carthage’s Britt Coy and Owen Derryberry both carded 83 to lead the Tigers, while Webb City was led by Keegon Dill’s 87 and Carl Junction’s low score was shot by Noah Williams (89).

Area golfers will compete at the Sonic Invitational beginning at 8:30 a.m. on Monday at the Carthage Golf Course.

WEBB CITY (363)—Dill 87, Cahoon 89, Carter 93, Frazier 94, Burlingame 95.
