NIXA, Mo. — Led by Hailey Bryant’s runner-up showing, the Carthage High School girls golf team finished second in the team standings at the Central Ozark Conference girls golf tournament on Thursday at Fremont Hills Country Club.
With four of the top eight scores, Ozark captured the team championship. Ozark finished with a team score of 354, while Carthage was second with a 379 and Nixa finished third with a 397.
Ozark’s Elizabeth Freeman was the individual conference champion with a 7-over-par 78.
Carthage’s Bryant placed second with an 81, while Nixa’s Mia Farrar took third with an 87 and Republic’s Clara Fronabarger was fourth with a 90.
Ozark’s Maddie Greenlee and Katie Marshall tied for fifth with scores of 91, while Carthage’s Rylee Scott placed seventh with a 92.
Ozark’s Georgia Fraser carded 94 and was eighth, while Webb City’s Laya McAllister finished ninth with a 95 and Republic’s Regan Holmes took 10th (98).
Webb City’s Sarah Oathout and Joplin’s Sophia Schwartz both finished just outside the top 10 with identical scores of 99.
Republic (426), Webb City (433) and Joplin (436) finished fourth, fifth and sixth, respectively, in the team standings.
Willard (438), Branson (443) and Carl Junction (460) rounded out the team standings.
Area teams will compete at their respective district tournaments on Monday.
