CARL JUNCTION FALLS TO STRAFFORD IN OPENER
FORSYTH, Mo — The Carl Junction Bulldogs opened their season with a 66-48 loss to Strafford in the opening round of the Forsyth Tournament on Monday.
Strafford built a seven-point lead after the first quarter before outsourcing Carl Junction by 11 in the second period to take a 38-20 advantage into the intermission. The Bulldogs cut the lead to 11 to start the fourth before Strafford pulled away in the final period.
Kyler Perry led Carl Junction with 17 points, while Sincere Williams finished with 12. Isaiah Hefner had six points, with Alex Baker and Jaden Cherry each had four.
MARSHFIELD HANDS COLLEGE HEIGHTS LOSS
PIERCE CITY, Mo. — College Heights fell 71-46 to Marshfield to open the Pierce City Invitational on Monday.
The Cougars fall to 0-2 on the season.
Miller Long led College Heights with 15 points, while Curtis Davenport added 12 points.
Marshfield was led by Peyton McBride, who finished with a game-high 26 points. Zack Mings had 15 points in the win.
