NEOSHO, Mo. — Senior Night definitely went well for the Neosho Wildcats, as the hosts earned a 10-0 run-rule victory over the East Newton Patriots on Monday at Roy B. Shaver Field.
Neosho plated five runs in the bottom of the third.
Lane Yost recorded a run-scoring single to get the scoring started before a bases loaded walk made it 2-0.
Eli Zar and Chase Flynn both delivered RBI singles into left for a four-run cushion. Ryan Cargile scored on Trace Wilson’s sac fly to center, making it 5-0.
Flynn’s sac fly and a double steal pushed Neosho’s advantage to 7-0 in the bottom of the fifth.
The Wildcats ended the game by plating three runs in the bottom of the sixth on Wyatt Keplar’s two-run single and Zar’s walk-off single up the middle.
Zar and Flynn had two hits apiece. Neosho took advantage of seven walks and three East Newton errors.
Neosho’s Keplar earned the pitching victory after limiting the Patriots to two hits. He struck out 10.
Jake Anderson and Mason Hailey had East Newton’s lone hits.
Neosho hosts Seneca on Tuesday.
