NEOSHO, Mo. — Nixa rode a five-run second inning to a 6-2 win over Neosho on Thursday in Central Ozark Conference action.
Down 5-0, Neosho scored a run in the bottom of the second. Both teams added single tallies in the fifth for the final margin.
The Wildcats were limited to eight hits.
McKaylie Forrest and Abbie Carpenter had two hits apiece for the Wildcats, while Lili Graue, Carleigh Kinnaird, Beclynn Garrett and Alivia Campbell all had one hit apiece.
Chloe Patterson allowed three earned runs on three hits, while Kinnaird gave up one run on three hits.
Nixa’s Maddy Meierer was the winning pitcher. She struck out seven and scattered eight hits.
Meierer also hit a three-run homer in the second inning. Kaylee Schlenker and Phoebe Gardner drove in runs in the second inning with singles.
Chloe Krans had two hits for the Eagles.
Neosho hosts Joplin on Tuesday.
