CASSVILLE, Mo. — Joplin volleyball started the season 2-0 after earning a 3-0 win over Cassville on Thursday.
The Eagles started the night with a 25-12 opening-set win before moving up 2-0 with a 25-19 win. Joplin finished off the sweep in the third set by the score of 25-22.
Allie Lawrence led Joplin with 11 kills, three aces and three digs, while Emma Floyd had 10 kills and a block. Abby Edwards had five kills and four digs, while Angelina Schramm had four kills and seven digs. Bailey Owens had three kills and a block. Kaya Cooper had three kills, nine digs and led Joplin with 28 assists, while Paisley Parker had one kill, two aces, three assists and led the Eagles with 24 digs.
Joplin hosts Springfield Central on Tuesday.
