TRACK & FIELD: Joplin Eagles, Neosho Wildcats perform well at Sumna Invite

INDEPENDENCE, Mo. — Joplin and Neosho had athletes competing at the Bill Sumna Invitational on Saturday at William Chrisman High School.

Joplin senior Hobbs Campbell finished second in the 800-meter run in 1:57.88. Liberty North’s Grayson Tapp took first in 1:57.32.

Campbell finished third in the 3200 with a time of 9:22. Taking first and second were Rock Bridge’s Ian Kemey (9:05) and Liberty North’s Sage Wilde (9:20).

Neosho’s Isaiah Green was the runner-up in the triple jump (44-7.75) and teammate Jared Siler placed fifth in the high jump (6-2) and seventh in the triple jump (42-9).

Neosho’s Tyrese Hill placed fifth in the 200-meter dash in 22.18 seconds, while Izaiah Hill finished sixth in the 400 in 50.89. 

Neosho’s Carter Baslee was seventh in the discus (138-11) and Collyn Kivett took eighth in the javelin (148-10.25).

The Wildcats fared well in the relays. Neosho finished fourth in the 4×400, seventh in the 4×100 and eighth in the 4×200. 

In the girls meet, Neosho’s Jazmyn Washington placed fourth in the high jump (5-1) and Kinley Wilson finished sixth in the pole vault (9-2.25).
