The day after the Ozark 7 Conference Track Meet was held, scoring errors were detected and then corrected.

Thomas Jefferson track and field coach Junior Joseph told SoMo Sports the team points were calculated incorrectly at Wednesday’s conference meet, leading to mistakes in the team standings in both the girls and boys divisions.

As a result of the corrections, a new girls champion has been crowned.

On Wednesday, the final team scores of the girls meet had Thomas Jefferson with 223 points and College Heights Christian with 220.

After the appropriate corrections were made on Thursday, College Heights Christian’s girls were declared Ozark 7 champions. The corrected team scores have College Heights with 208 points and Thomas Jefferson second with 193 points.

Wheaton (53) and McAuley Catholic (38) were third and fourth in the girls team standings.

The boys team scores have also been updated after the meet was rescored.

College Heights remained the team champion with 163 points. However, the second and third place teams on the boys side were reversed after the recount. McAuley Catholic took second with 114 points and Thomas Jefferson was third with 113. The original results had the Cavaliers second and the Warriors third.

Rounding out the boys team standings were Verona (52), Wheaton (39), Exeter (31) and Golden City (12).

All of the corrected results have been posted on the MileSplit Missouri website.
