The Joplin High School girls tennis team suffered a 9-0 loss to Republic on Thursday.
In doubles matches, Republic’s Jasmine Howard and Abigail McCord defeated Kennedy Schwartz and Jensen Vowels 8-1, while Sedalia Shumaker and Morgan Lewis topped Brynn Driver and Cloey Blank 8-2.
Lauren Ueligger and Anna Davidson edged Patience Adams and Taaliyah Oates 8-6.
In singles, McCord defeated Schwartz 8-0, while Shumaker beat Vowels 8-0. Lewis defeated Driver 8-4, Uelliger beat Blank 8-2, Davidson defeated Adams 8-3 and Mia Stan beat Oates 8-3.
