WILLARD, Mo. — The Joplin High School boys tennis team suffered a 9-0 to Willard on Thursday in Central Ozark Conference action.
“Willard has some strong players, so I was happy to see us get a few games on them today from our young group,” Joplin coach Aaron Stump said. “Adam Badr and Josiah Hazlewood fared the best.”
At No. 1 doubles, Willard’s Caden Lingenfelser and Parker Solum beat Badr-Hazlewood 6-3.
Willard’s Dawson Amstutz-Seth Miller defeated Joseph Graham and Aidan Kester 6-0 at No. 2 doubles, while Alex Crawford-Ethan Moroni topped Joplin’s Michael Mancipe and Hunter Merkley 6-0 at No. 3 doubles.
In singles, Lingenfelser defeated Graham 6-0, Crawford topped Badr 6-1, Amstutz beat Mancipe 6-0, Miller defeated Hazlewood 6-2, Solum beat Merkley 6-0 and Moroni defeated Kester 6-0.
Joplin hosts Neosho on Tuesday.
