PREP GOLF: Joplin wins COC Championship with three top-five scores leading the way

WILLARD, Mo. — Joplin boys golf added another strong performance to its repertoire on Monday as the Eagles walked away as the Central Ozark Conference champions at the Greene Hills Golf and Country Club.

Joplin shot a score of 309 as a team to win the COC Championship tournament. Webb City (327) took second, while Carl Junction (329) and Ozark (329) tied for third place. Republic and Nixa shot 343, while Carthage and Branson each finished at 348. Willard shot a 354, with Neosho rounding out the scores with a 385.

Aside from the team championship, Joplin also had an impressive showing in individual performances. Harry Satterlee took top medalist honors with a 75, while Fielding Campbell, Wyatt Satterlee, Neosho’s Xavier Woodward and Ozark’s Kyler Smith tied for second after all four carded a 76 to earn all-conference recognition.

Finishing in the top 10 and also earning all-COC honors in the process were Webb City’s Keegon Dill and Carl Junction’s Jacob Teeter, who both finished in a tie for sixth after shooting 77s. Webb City’s Carson Frazier shot a 78. Republic’s Griffin Frey shot a 79. Carthage’s Owen Derryberry shot an 81. 

In other local scores, Joplin’s Ethan Sage shot an 82, while Hobbs Campbell carded an 85.

Webb City’s Cody Frazier shot an 84, while Dylan Burlingame scored an 88. Jager Carter finished with a 101.

Carl Junction’s Zach Wrensch shot an 83, with Cooper Wyrick shooting an 84 and Noah Williams shooting an 85. Tommy Walker finished with a 91.

Carthage’s Britt Coy scored an 83, with Tyler Phillips shooting a 90. Quinn Brewer shot a 94, with Grant Riley finishing with a 96.

Neosho’s Kytn Fransisco shot a 91, with Collin Gray and Landon Werneke each shooting a 109. Collin Werneke shot a 112.
