Joplin High School hosted the MSHSAA Class 4 District 3 girls golf tournament on Thursday at Schifferdecker Golf Course.

The top two teams and the top 12 individuals not on the qualifying teams advanced to the state tournament.

Springfield Catholic (350) and Kickapoo (367) qualified their full squads to the state tournament.

The lone individual qualifier from the area was Carthage’s Shay Gaddis.

A sophomore, Gaddis carded an 86 and tied for seventh place with Notre Dame de Sion’s Ava Hoehn and Raymore-Peculiar’s Samantha Larkins.

Gaddis made par on six holes and had nine bogeys to go along with three double bogeys.

Springfield Catholic’s Lyla Louderbaugh was the individual medalist with a 1-under-par 70.

Ozark’s Josey Roberts (72) and Springfield Catholic’s Grace Tiedemann (75) finished second and third, respectively. Rounding out the top five were Lee’s Summit West’s Brylie Ellis (81) and Kickapoo’s Sarah Trotman (83).

The final individual qualifiers were Ray-Pec’s McKenna Raymond and Central’s Hampton Richards. Both shot 95 and tied for 16th overall.

Joplin’s Lindsey Belnap and Carthage’s Addison Foust both turned in identical scores of 101 and they tied for 25th place. They were six strokes back of the final state qualifier. Belnap is a senior, while Foust is a freshman.

Also competing for Joplin were Drew Yockey (104), Taylor Colson (113), Kenna Haley (116) and Chloe Friend (128). The Eagles finished eighth in the team standings (434) in their final outing of the ’22 season.
