CARL JUNCTION AT BRANSON

Last week: Carthage def. Carl Junction 21-20; Ozark def. Branson 26-16.

Last year: Carl Junction def. Branson 36-7.

OUTLOOK: Carl Junction will look to rebound after last Friday’s close setback to Carthage at Bulldog Stadium. 

There were positives in the loss for the Bulldogs, as senior quarterback Alex Baker completed 15 passes for 200 yards with three touchdowns. Five different receivers caught passes, led by Cole Stewart’s 87 yards. Brady Sims ran 10 times for 48 yards. 

Branson has been outscored 68-22 this season. 

In last week’s contest against Ozark, the Pirates led 10-7 at the half before allowing 19 second-half points. Turnovers were a problem for Branson, as the Pirates lost a pair of fumbles and also threw an interception in the second half against the Tigers. 

Branson used two quarterbacks last week. Dalton Muenchau passed for 145 yards, while Tristan Pierce passed for 142. Ethan Jones caught eight passes for 115 yards and Brady Blackwell hauled in 12 for 105 with a touchdown. The Pirates ran for just 50 yards, with Christian Berumen recording 28 yards with a touchdown on nine carries and David Hadaller adding 25 rushing yards on nine attempts.
