MCAULEY BOYS TAKE DOWN SHELDON
McAuley Catholic jumped out to a big lead by the intermission before pulling away to a 59-48 win over Sheldon on Thursday.
The Warriors built a 32-23 lead by the intermission and pushed the lead to 15 to start the fourth en route to the win.
Daniel Wagner led McAuley with a game-high 21 points, 12 coming in the first half. Thomas Black was right behind with 20 points, also scoring 12 in the first half. Matthew Dohmen added 10 points to give the Warriors a trio of players with double-figure scoring.

MCAULEY GIRLS TOP PIERCE CITY
McAuley Catholic edged Pierce City 53-50 in a girls basketball clash on Thursday.
The Warriors improved to 4-3 on the season.
The 1-2 punch of Kayleigh Teeter and Kennedy DeRuy led the Warriors. Teeter scored a game-high 23 points to lead the way, while DeRuy added 19.
Also for the Warriors, Gliza Damaso scored five, Abbey Cahalan had four and Carmen Colson added two.
Katie Tindell scored 15 points for Pierce City, while Olivia Stanphill had 14.
McAuley led 35-23 at the half.
Pierce City outscored the Warriors 27-18 in the second half, but the hosts held on late to secure the win.
McAuley travels to Galena, Kansas, on Friday.
COLLEGE HEIGHTS GIRLS ROLL
College Heights Christian’s girls basketball team hiked its record to 7-1 with Thursday’s 54-22 win over Southwest (Washburn).
Grace Bishop scored 19 points and handed out five assists to lead the Cougars, while Klohe Burk had 15 points.
Lainey Lett had eight rebounds and seven points.
College Heights hosts New Covenant on Friday.
