PREP BASEBALL: Republic pulls away from Carthage in COC action

CARTHAGE Mo. — Republic struck for three runs in the top of the first before Carthage tied the game up with a three spot in the fifth before RHS scored five unanswered runs combined in the sixth and seventh innings to earn the win.

Wil McCombs took the loss for Carthage (5-11, 0-5 COC) after allowing six runs, one earned, on three hits, three walks and nine strikeouts in 5 1/3 innings. Parker Copeland allowed two runs on four hits, two walks and a strikeout in 1 2/3 relief innings.

Vincent Pyeatt earned the win for Republic (11-6, 4-0 COC) after allowing three runs, two earned, on five hits, two walks and three strikeouts in six innings.

McCombs had a hit, drew a walk and scored a run. Kaden Kralicek walked and drove in a run, while Kanen Vogt, Sylas Browning and Grant Collier all added base hits.
