Joplin is the fifth seed and Carthage is the seventh seed in the Class 6 District 6 baseball tournament.
The Eagles take on fourth-seeded Lebanon at 1:30 p.m. on May 17, while Carthage battles second-seeded Republic at 4 p.m. later that day. All games will be hosted by Springfield central.
The semifinals are slated for May 19, with the district title game scheduled for May 20.
