GIRLS TENNIS: Thomas Jefferson tops Carthage; Neosho falls to Nixa

Thomas Jefferson’s girls tennis team improved to 7-0 in dual action after Monday’s 7-2 win over Carthage. 

In singles action, Thomas Jefferson’s Allison Ding defeated Kianna Yates 8-0, while Jeanna Jeyaraj beat Daniela Marquez 8-2 and Kyla Yang topped Anayansi Lopez-Rodas 8-2.

Also for the Cavs, Jessica Joseph defeated Katie Barton 8-0, Wardo Morsy beat Ashley Guerra 8-1 and Emalee Ro topped Cassidy Whitley 8-5.

Carthage won two of three doubles matches.

Yates and Marquez defeated Ding-Jeyaraj 8-4, while Lopez-Barton beat Yang-Ro 8-2. TJ’s Joseph and Morsy defeated Garcia-Hernandez-Guerra 8-4.

The Cavaliers host Greenwood at 4:30 on Tuesday. Carthage hosts Branson on Tuesday. 

 

NIXA 9, NEOSHO 0

Nixa defeated Neosho 9-0 in a Central Ozark Conference girls tennis dual on Monday. 

In singles action, Neosho’s Jasmine Martinez lost to  Arabella Cosgrove 8-0, Lyndsey Doke fell to Abigail Fulmecky 8-0, Alex Olsbo lost to Ellie Sorgenfrei 8-0 and  Georgia Housh fell to Samantha Fulnecky 8-0.

Neosho’s Keely Keeton suffered an 8-2 setback to Julia Hines, while Emily Papen lost to Jazmin Hohmann 8-0. 

In doubles, Nixa’s Kylie Burk and Hines beat Martinez-Doke 8-0, Kaylee Chronister and Lilly Maggard defeated Olsbo-Keeton 8-2 and Madison Ellingsworth-Lauren Reed topped Housh-Sydnee Minton 8-1.

Neosho hosts Webb City at 4:30 on Tuesday.
