GIRLS GOLF: Local athletes unable to advance to state at Class 3 District 3 tourney

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — The Joplin area did not have a state qualifier at the MSHSAA Class 3 District 3 girls golf tournament on Friday at the Bill & Payne Stewart Golf Course.

The top two teams were Glendale (309) and Helias Catholic (364). Both schools advanced full squads. 

Carl Junction, Webb City and McDonald County had athletes competing at the event, but none were able to finish in the top 12 after the golfers from the qualifying teams were excluded.

Glendale’s Page Bowman was the individual district champion with a 74. 

The final individual qualifiers, Willard’s Emma Howard and Bolivar’s Elle Robinson, both shot 99.

Carl Junction’s Rylee Sprague and Olivia Teeter both shot 102, McDonald County’s Fayth Ogden carded 104 and Carl Junction’s Anna Burch and Webb City’s Jacie Crouch both shot 105.

Also competing for Carl Junction were Addison Teeter (107) and Jasmine Woerner (117). Also competing for Webb City were Avry Hodson (109), Langlee Walker (117) and Isabella Manes (126) and Farryn Holcomb (141). Also competing for Mac County were Kelsie Lilly (116), Kyla Moore (121), Raygan Allgood (130) and Danika Watson (142).
