BOYS SOCCER: Reyes scores four goals, leads Joplin past Willard

WILLARD, Mo. — Luciano Reyes scored four goals and Joplin earned a convincing 7-3 win over Willard on Tuesday in Central Ozark Conference soccer action.

A senior, Reyes scored goals in the 10th, 48th, 58th and 60th minutes.

Justin Kilafwe scored in the second minute, Luis Alvarado scored in the 23rd minute and Adam Montanez added a goal in the 79th minute.

Ely Montanez had two assists, while Duncan Fogarty, Adam Montanez and Alvarado had one assist apiece.

Willard’s Caleb Kuchta scored a pair of goals (25th and 62nd minutes) and Marseli Popesku had one goal for the Tigers. 

Joplin goalkeeper Andrew Jordan made four saves on seven shots. 

Willard goalie Chris Massey made 10 saves on 17 shots.

Joplin will host Monett on Thursday night.

 

EAGLES GO 1-1 LAST SATURDAY

Also of note, the Eagles split their final two matches at the Parkview tourney this past Saturday.

Joplin defeated Central 5-3.

Adam Montanez scored three goals, while Alvarado and Reyes added a goal apiece. Azziel Palma had two assists, while Ely Montanez and Alvarado had one assist apiece.

Jordan made five saves.

The Eagles suffered a 3-1 loss to Webb City.

Ely Montanez had Joplin’s lone score.

Alex Flores scored twice for the Cardinals, while Luis Gallardo had one goal for Webb City. 

Jordan made 10 saves for the Eagles, while Connor Black had three saves for the Cardinals.
