BOYS SOCCER: Joplin upends Pittsburg 4-1

Joplin scored three goals in the first half on the way to a 4-1 over Pittsburg on Thursday.

The Eagles took the initial lead when Azziel Palma found the back of the net in the eighth minute off the assist by Adam Montanez. 

Joplin added a goal from Luciano Reyes in the 12th minute off the assist by Luis Alvarado and ballooned the lead to 3-0 with an Adam Montanez goal in the 15th minute, with Palma credited with the assist. 

Pittsburg cut the lead to 3-1 by halftime, but Joplin’s goal from Luis Alvarado off the assist from Duncan Fogarty in the 65th minute was the only goal of the second half.

Joplin’s Andrew Jordan finished with two saves.
