CARTHAGE, Mo. — The Carthage Tigers bounced back from Tuesday’s hard-fought loss to Neosho by beating Springfield Central 3-2 on Thursday at David Haffner Stadium.
Central took a 1-0 lead in the 22nd minute on Boston Hawkins’ goal.
Carthage tied it up in the 36th minute after a goal from Welle Welle.
The Bulldogs briefly took the lead in the second half, as Max Robertson scored in the 63rd minute.
Carthage scored two unanswered goals.
Silas Laytham recorded the equalizer in the 65th minute before George Laytham converted the game-winner on a penalty kick in the 80th minute.
Carthage (6-2) hosts Webb City on Tuesday night.
