CARL JUNCTION, Mo. — Joplin claimed the team championship and Carthage’s Shay Gaddis was the individual medalist at the Carl Junction Invitational girls golf tournament on Tuesday at Briarbrook Golf Course.
Joplin finished on top of the team standings with a four-person score of 412.
Lamar (423), Carl Junction (432) and Webb City (460) finished second through fourth, respectively. Webb City’s B team (522), Seneca (523) and Purdy (530) rounded out the team standings.
It’s the second straight team championship for Joplin, as Shannon Neill’s Eagles also won last week’s tourney at Cassville.
A sophomore at Carthage, Gaddis shot an 83 to earn individual medalist honors.
Lamar’s Victoria O’Neal carded 86 and was second on the individual leaderboard.
Carl Junction’s Olivia Teeter finished third with a 97, while Joplin’s duo of Kenna Haley (99) and Lindsey Belnap (100) took fourth and fifth, respectively.
Joplin’s Drew Yockey shot a 101, Carl Junction’s Anna Burch and Webb City’s Jacie Crouch turned in identical scores of 106, Lamar’s Kennedy Evans shot a 107 and Webb City’s Langlee Walker carded 109.
Also competing for Joplin were Taylor Colson (112), Chloe Friend (112) and Gwen Zamanzadeh (125).
Also competing for the host Bulldogs were Alex Teeter (114), Rylee Sprague (115) and Jasmine Woerner (123). Carl Junction’s B team was led by Laurel Shallenburger’s 117.
Webb City’s third and fourth golfers were Avry Hodson (120) and Farryn Holcomb (125). Webb City’s B team was led by Libby Allen’s 122.
Also competing for Carthage were Addie Foust (111) and Brooke Detherage (132).
Seneca’s top finisher was Maddie Collinsworth (117), while Rosa Schad led Purdy with a 122.
Area golfers will compete at the Ozark Invitational on Thursday at Fremont Hills.
