GIRLS GOLF: Joplin wins Cassville invite

CASSVILLE, Mo. — The Joplin High School girls golf team won the Cassville Lady Wildcat Invitational on Thursday.

The Eagles had three of the top 10 golfers and finished with a team score of 402.

Cassville (409) and Carl Junction (419) finished second and third, respectively, in the team standings.

Joplin’s Lindsey Belnap finished fifth overall with a 95, while Kenna Haley (9th) and Drew Yockey (10th) both finished with identical scores of 99. 

Also for the Eagles, Taylor Colson shot a 109 and Chloe Friend carded 112. 

Cassville’s Avery Chappell was the individual medalist with an 83, while Lamar’s Victoria O’Neal took second with an 87 and Carthage’s Shay Gaddis placed third with a 90.

Monett’s Claire Nation (93) and Katie Geiss (96) placed fourth and sixth, respectively, while Carl Junction’s Rylee Sprague took seventh with a 98. 

Cassville’s Gracie Harmon was eighth with a 99. 

Also competing for Carl Junction were Olivia Teeter (103), Alex Teeter (107), Anna Burch (111) and Jasmine Woerner (114). 

Also competing for Carthage were Addie Foust (102) and Brooke Detherage (129).

Webb City also competed at the event. The Cardinals finished with a team score of 448. Competing for Webb City were Jacie Crouch (101), Avry Hodson (104), Langlee Walker (120), Emerson Boulware (123) and Farryn Holcomb (126).

Seneca’s top performers were Ellie Olson (108) and Maddy Aumen (109).
