DIAMOND, Mo. — Thomas Jefferson’s Kip Atteberry was the individual medalist in the boys race and Carl Junction’s girls claimed a team championship at the Diamond Invitational on Tuesday.
In the boys race, Atteberry took first with a time of 17:46.
Stockton’s Braden Postlewait was the runner-up in 18:24.
Carl Junction’s Jack Lawson finished fourth in 18:52, while TJ’s duo of London Rodriguez (19:19) and Braden Honeywell-Lynch (19:45) placed sixth and eighth, respectively.
Carl Junction’s Alexander Allison finished 10th.
Stockton (33) and Carl Junction (55) were the top two boys teams.
Carl Junction’s girls won the team title, as the Bulldogs had five runners finish in the top 13.
Carl Junction’s Alexis Carpenter took second in 23:13. Other top performers for the CJ girls were Klohe Burk (9th), Audrey Fletcher (11th), Bailey Feken (12th), Marissa Newman (13th) and Sadie Burchett (14th).
Pierce City’s Emma Hunt was the individual medalist with a time of 22:30. Sarcoxie’s Laney Dorris finished sixth in 24:03.
Thomas Jefferson’s Sarah Mueller finished 20th.
