For the second straight night, the Joplin Outlaws recorded a run-rule victory over the Nevada Griffons.

On Independence Day, the Outlaws rolled to a 13-2 win over the Griffons at Joe Becker Stadium.

One night earlier, Joplin blasted Nevada 12-1 in seven innings at Lyons Stadium. Both MINK League contests ended after the seventh inning due to the run-rule.

On Monday, the Outlaws scored six runs in the third, five in the fourth and two more in the fifth to plate 13 runs. The Griffons scored twice in the sixth, but the game concluded after the top of the seventh.

Joplin pounded out 13 hits. Carson Johnson went 3-for-4 with three runs scored and an RBI, while Garrett Chun drove in five runs on two hits. Both players homered.

On the mound, Edrian Rangel tossed five scoreless innings, scattering two hits and striking out three.

Nevada’s Grant Miller gave up six earned runs on five hits and five walks in three frames. Richard Tomlinson allowed five earned runs on three hits in one inning.

Recording hits for the Griffons were Maximo DeLeon, Seth Gray and Andrew Pickering.

In Sunday’s win, the Outlaws pushed across seven runs in the third and five more in the fourth.

Johnson drove in three runs on two hits, while Chun, Joe Ricchio and Sam Fagan all contributed two RBI apiece.
