MINK BASEBALL: Outlaws earn 5th straight victory

The win streak is up to five for the Joplin Outlaws. 

The Outlaws rolled to a 15-2 win in seven innings over the Nevada Griffons on Friday night at Joe Becker Stadium.

After a fifth straight win, the Outlaws are 19-18 overall and tied with Sedalia for first place in the South Division.

The Griffons fell to 12-24.

The Outlaws led 1-0 when they erupted for eight runs in the third inning. The Griffons plated two runs in the fourth, but the hosts added six runs in the sixth. The game ended after the top of the seventh inning due to the run-rule.

Joplin scored its 15 runs on 12 hits. 

Garrett Chun went 3-for-4 with three RBI and two runs scored for the Outlaws, while Max Bruff drove in four runs on two hits, including a home run. 

Korrey Siracusa and Carson Carpenter contributed two hits apiece. 

Joe Ricchio and Carpenter had two RBI apiece, while Caden Bressler, Cade Lott and Siracusa each drove in one run. Ricchio and Siracusa scored three runs apiece. 

Jordan Sheridan scored twice and recorded a hit. 

James Yamasaki, Kohl Cooper and Connor Peck handled the pitching duties for Joplin. 

Seth Gray homered for the Griffons, who managed just four hits. 

The Outlaws host Sedalia (19-18) at 7 on Saturday night in a key South Division clash.
